Instructional Technology Resource Centre

Instructional Technology Resource department is Media and Methods, aimed at facilitating teaching and learning at Loyola Jesuit College. The department is committed to continually inspiring, and augmenting the teaching and learning culture of the school. It is an independent unit empowered to: evaluate and review existing instructional modes of the school for possible improvement,

• be a resource center (all year round) for trained teachers who may need to update their knowledge or be reminded of Educational Principles especially in Subject Methods, Measurement and evaluation, as well as Child Psychology; also be a haven for untrained teachers who may need to learn some of the skills of the profession, on the job,
• liaise with classroom teachers at Faculty level and hold conferences for brainstorming on better and more effective approach to teaching and learning in their specifics,
• generate interest in teachers to form and produce their individual teaching aids with all necessary assistance from the personnel of the unit,
• augment classroom teaching and learning by helping to provide additional structured out-of-class supplements when necessary,
• be able to prepare and produce or source for standard audio visual aids for most if not all subjects being taught in the school in forms of charts, graphs slides, films, recordings, 3D models, student study-kits etc; design appropriate means of measuring the effectiveness of these materials,
• keep custody of all instructional materials, models and relevant equipments and recommend their maintenance,
  study Radio and Television Educational Programs for schools, sort them out, inform respective teachers as appropriate, record programs if and when necessary and prepare conducive atmosphere for student participation at appointed times,
• promote greater adaptation to teaching and learning technology exposition among teachers for greater effectiveness,
• form links with other IT sources for new information and development that will enhance the teaching and learning power and culture of our school.
