Message from the President |
|
A warm welcome to the Class of 2011, the tenth class to enter Loyola Jesuit College. We have come a long way. I recall visiting the land here at Gidan Mangoro in 1992, before there was any building. Then we dreamed and imagined how we could fill this space with buildings and students. The dream is now a reality, and I was here in July to celebrate and address the fourth graduating class, the Class of 2005.
Little did I know back in 1992 that I would return to LJC in 2005 as President of a well-known and highly regarded college. It is a joy and a privilege to come back to this beautiful campus. Surely it will also be a challenge to maintain and to improve the excellence that has been established. Because it is a Jesuit institution, we will always strive for the greater, strive to improve what is already excellent. For this, the cooperation, not only of students but also of parents and friends, is essential. Once again, welcome. May God bless each and every one of us as we begin our journey through Loyola Jesuit College, a journey that will, I hope, prepare us, as our motto explains, for a life of “Service of God and Others.” |
