Internal Examinations
The College adopts a Continuous Assessment method in evaluating students' academic standard. This is based on class work, both written and oral, practical projects, regular three-weekly tests (that is, two continuous assessment tests in a term), homework, and an end of term examination.
A student's end of term grade is made up from two components:
1. Continuous assessment scores averaged over 60
2. The End of Term examination score averaged over 40
The school year is divided into three terms. At the end of each term, students write an examination in all their subjects. A comprehensive report consisting of a student's cumulative continuous assessment, including detailed comments by his/her class teacher and house teacher is sent to every parent. The passing grade for any test or examination is 50%. Students whose cumulative average grade falls below 65% are placed on Academic Probation. A student placed on Academic Probation consecutively for three terms in a session may be required to repeat the year or withdraw completely from the College.
Grading Scheme

External Examinations
In addition to the mandatory WAEC and NECO senior secondary examinations, the school arranges for its final year students to sit for other external examinations, which will qualify them to continue their education in universities and colleges overseas. Each year, interested Senior Secondary 2 students are registered en-masse through the British Council and the US embassy to sit for the Cambridge GCE and Scholastics Aptitude Test (SAT) respectively. All our final year students also take the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board University Matriculation Examination (UME).
The College strongly discourages private arrangements for external examinations, which tend to detract from the students planned course of studies at the school.
